Piles of newspapers function as the pillars in Ingo Abeska’s drawing room. Stacked „facts“ are waiting for being worked off. That’s the night work. Then he lets the world outside – the media constructs of our reality – enter him and becomes a diffusing vessel. What is day’s residue or even a dream sequence? When the dark letters start to dance, the sharp contours dissolve, and focused reading und looking give way to a trans-like state; the draughtsman’s hour has come. Now the hand can draw what is already lost in thought. Chains of associations, images, and text fragments disengage from the subconscious. Peculiar time and space axes open up, impossible perspectives are established, and snippets from the medial sunken sediments are formed up to disturbing comments. Coming “extremly from within“ (Ingo Abeska), it outlines itself on paper. The skin of the day. Afterwards, it is cast off, forgotten. A new day begins, a fresh page is turned in the kraft paper notebook, smooth, 14 sheets. Brave new world, good morning!
