Pairidaeza exercises impart Monika Kummer-Pretterhofer and Manfred Kummer's long-term endeavors to percieve, knead and cultivate (in parts also de-cultivate) an agricultural piece of land at municipality Eggersdorf near Graz and develop places of yearning.
What came into being and into sight includes a naturally pullulating, circularly designed deadwood hedge surrounding an orchard and a artificial clearing in the forest nearby. The laid out untended wilderness and the well-kept clearing contrast and thematize the circumjacent land use cultures; at the same time, new impetus for interpretation, utilization and intervention arise.
As a cooperation with RHIZOM and as part of architecture summer 2018, the temporary opening is seen as a chance to constructively interact with additional artists (Angelika Thon, Mirko Maric, H.J. Schubert, e.d Gfrerer, Markus Gfrerer) and visitors.
The results of this process will be presented to interested visitors in two tours at the beginning of September.
